Hoping someone has some insite on this..:

Ran the boat home today and it felt a little funny.. normally I cruise 75% throttle which puts me around 3100rpms... today 75% only put me at 2850.. I thought maybe winds and tide played a factor.. didn't think much of it..

When I got onto my canal and grabbed the joystick to spin my boat the starboard pod was rumbling and making an aweful sound.. only the port side was reacting.. it was strange.. tried using the sticks and only the port engine was working so I was able to manuver with one engine and my wheel.. that was fun.. put it in the slip.. **** her down.. started back up again and all seemed normal... going to have her pulled tomorow.. but wanted to see if anyone else been in the same situation.. thanks

In case anyone cares, from the lack of response I don't think anyone does, but found the culprit.. this will get you every time... flag 1 - Andrew 0.

According to my mechanic, I got lucky and all is fine.. he cut it off and all back to normal... but that's a good point.. I'll keep a close look on my fluid levels in the pods over the next few days.. thanks for the advice..

I don't think it is a case of no one cares about the post you made. Rather I suspect that the majority of members here do not have pod drives. The number of pod drive members is growing over time.

Had to speak up supporting the site - I think instead of "no one cares" it is more of a case of no one had anything valuable to help.

When I see something floating (ice bag, towel, etc.) I always try to pick it up. Admiral is used to it now - after I explained that could have fouled our props or strainer.

Personally I appreciate your follow up with what the problem turned out to be.

thanks

Mark

I was kinda joking.. didn't realize it was going to be taken so personal... I apploigize

Sarcasm is difficult to convey in the written word, but no harm done.

Glad to hear your pod was not damaged; I can imagine how expensive it gets to take one of those things apart and start replacing things!

Glad you posted your findings. Seems like we've only heard about pod problems with seals, support, etc. You hate to pay for an unscheduled haul out, but I'm glad yours was an "easy" fix...

I know the feeling of the boat running "funny." I had that feeling once - when we got to our destination I jumped in with my mask and there was a bungee wrapped around the strut and part of the shaft. Just enough to disturb the way things usually run. It was pretty simple to get it cut off in the water.

just to help out.. to convey sarcasm .... (/S) or (S) or /s at the end of the statement

Nothing good ever comes of that mysterious funny feeling.... and it rarely goes away on its own!
