Ever since recently connecting (stupid me) a certain fresh water hose supply to the boat, clumps of green algae or seaweed keep clogging the little screen at the fresh water pump forcing me to go down to the engine room and clear the little screen filter. I've obviously changed to a brand new hose now but the damage is done and the algae is now floating around in my fresh water tank. Does ANYONE have a solution for this problem?

I am not sure how much to use, but I think bleach is going to be your friend here. You will have to sanitize tank, lines, pump, and all to completely eliminate it. Someone will chime in soon.

Shock it with a couple of cups of Clorox. Drain the tank down through one of the boat's hose bib then fill completely with the Clorox and let sit for three of four hours. Drain and repeat as necessary. I shock the tank every spring.

On my 290 DA I can disconnect the water line from the pump and dump the entire contents of the fresh water tank into the bilge. If you can do this you are not passing the debris through out your fresh water system.

Once you think you have it cleaned out .... you can reconnect and then flush the entire system with your bleach solution.

Hmmm......this sounds like a good solution to cleaning out the seaweed clumps....I'll give it a go. Thanks!
