While remodeling my 1996 330DA I found this strange piece nicely stashed down in the bottom of the galley cabinets under the small hatch in the galley. It is made of 1/2" plywood painted flat black with a hinge on one end and male snap on the other the square holes are approx. 4". I started looking for the hinge point or the female snap and found them in the compartment below the sink. So as the picture shows it was mounted below the sink and seems to hinge up out of the way or lay down on the small cleat.

The question is what the hell is it?
What does it hold?
What does it do? IMG_0051.JPEG IMG_0052.JPEG IMG_0054.JPEG IMG_0053.JPEG

That was my buddies first guess too, booze holder. But why would it have a hinge and the ability to be stowed away and not used to hold booze? Doesn't make any clear sense. LOL

Sometimes you need to store other things?
