Well Ed this exact thing happened to me last weekend. Shnsr (on this site) was docked next to me and gave me this advice. Turn off water system and waste system. Depress the pedal and while it s down(you should be looking through the hole) Plunge it!! I did this a couple of times, fired everything back up and voila!! It worked!! Quick & painless!! Hope it works for you too!! Todd

Well I was just about to put a post up thanking everyone at CSR for all the help I found about my Vacuflush in various threads, it blocked on Saturday. But this gives me the chance to thank all and to pass on my little bit of head fun.....

The co owner had the boat last wekend, his kids plus guests and their kids, reading previous threads that is a recipe for Vacuflush disaster !

It happened........we turned up Saturday to find a smelly boat and a head that did not flush at all. I tried running more water into the bowl and soaking the blockage to no avail so after reading more on here on Sat evening went to tackle it on Sunday morning. As expected, after turning off the electrics and runing a tap to get rid of water pressure, pressing the loo pedal to move the ball out of way it was quite clear it was a solid block there, rubber gloves on, careful gentle movement, so not to damamge any pipework, with a thin wooden dowl, down into the mainly paper blockage mushed it all up with the resident water and once it started moving away the vacuum system started working again as i flushed several times, holding the pedal up to fill bowl with loads more water. Also took the opportunity to thoroughly clean the ball and the rubber seal it sits against. All working great again now.

Would have struggled without the help on here.

Cheers folks.

Andy

Sometimes you just gotta step back,......turn everything OFF,.....and wait 'til morning !!

Took my plunger, a bottle of bleach, and whole lotta 'hope'
down to the boat this am !! Turned on the fresh water and head systems,.....depressed the flush lever,...and all is well !!

Thanks to all you CSR's for your words of wisdom, and common sense !!

It's great when you don't have to pull out the 'ol wallet !!

So, who was the one who used the toilet last and clogged it all up? You may want to implement a "double flush" rule.

But, that's great that you got a freebie repair!

Yep, an abbreviated set of "loo rules" in bold type is being prepared and laminated to stick on the inside of the head door.

I believe there have been some comments posted about using bleach in your head systems and it eating up the seals in the lines. I am not certain of this, but I believe a bit more searching would not hurt, perhaps a google or bing search?
