Hello, i have a 1979 300 with three batteries and two switches. the one switch is just off/on and one red cable and one black cable, the other switch is 1/2/both/off. I connected the off/on switch and the lights work, but no motors. I disconnected the single battery and connected the two other batteries with leads from the 1/2/both/off switch, starboard engine will turn over, no port. when I connect the single battery to the off/on switch so all three batteries are connected both motors turn over. Can someone explain what purpose the switches serve and what purpose each battery serves. thanks jimn:huh:
