Posted the other week regarding my lack of signal, well I traced that back to a blown fuse. Now I need to replace it.

Well, actually, I need to replace it and the fuse next to it, which I very foolishly, placed in the galley circuit only to realize later it was obviously a lower rated fuse, with no markings. Don't ask, I "guesstimated" they were the same. Fool.

At the electronics store we worked out the gallery circuit fuse was 32v 15A, which seems high to me, but hey, that is what is written on it - 32V on one end, BUSSAGC15 on the other.

He has replaced these with fuses marked F15AL250V - is this too much, or does the current matter a lot more than the voltage?

Now for the "interesting" one. The other fuse I swapped in there does not have any markings. I made a guess with at a 10A version, but ......

Actually, I've pulled up a photo and I now believe that other fuse was not in any circuit - 2nd from left. Not knowing much about marine 12v wiring, I assume that is a 12v bus those fuses are situated on, and the 2nd leftmost fuses is just waiting for me to wire something else in?

Hi Rcon

Those glass fuses are 3AG (size 3 Automtive Glass) The last number is the amperage. 3AG-10 = 10Amp 3AG-15 = 15Amp etc. Pretty old hat now, as most machines use blade or circuit breakers. My retail on them is around .35C Trade around .25c

Only give you that, because some of the electrical places rip int you. The votage with the fuses, doesnt make a difference to the amperage, which I have never quite understood, it defies my understanding of ohms law.

So the one he sold you FL15 = 15A rated 250V and oh the one you had in BUSS, it the brand name, bussman are a US manufacturer

The fuse box, correct bussed.

The very bottom bar has 2 Black wires, common earth return

The one above has a red wire at the left hand side, that is power into the fuse box, so that side of the fuses should always be live (with your master switch on)

Then the top, is individual supplies out to the various circuits, From what I can see you are using 3. 2nd from left has nothing connected. 2nd from right, the wire has been cut
