Hello folks -does anybody know of a good & reliable boat mover? Moving from Grosse Pointe, Michigan to Marina del Ray in the Los Angeles, CA area? I sure will appreciate any
recommendation - thank you a lot.

I would use http://www.uship.com/

You get movers to bid your job and you can see feedback.

+1  I used uship.com and had a great experience.

SHIPPERS BID FOR YOUR BUSINESS :smt038:smt038:smt038

It is a great site, and you are under no obligations when you use it. It is definately is worth a try.

Do not use Yacht and Sea repeat DO NOT USE YACHT AND SEA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:smt009

Of course there are lot and you can get it from many service providers!! By the way, have you heard of MiNeeds.com? As it really simplifies finding affordable movers. I used it to find them for my business. Essentially, after I described what I needed on this site, I received several competitive bids from local movers. I liked the fact that I didn’t have to call around and negotiate with each, and that they actually came to me.

Congrats on the move. What type of boat and do you know which marina you are going to be using in MDR?

I used Dudley Transport out Huntington Beach to Tacoma and Gerald was great to work with and their pricing was excellent !!!

I shipped my 320 from Lake of the Ozark's Mo to upstate New York. The Company was Bill Joule Boat transport from Florida. They are always all over the country and can meet your schedule. They were the best from a quality, care and pricing perspective. If you call them ask for Lorretta and she will take care of all your scheduling and other issues. Great company to do business with IMHO.

I have used Moger Transport out of Marina Del Rey on two occasions. It is a family run business that is very professional price competitive. If they are in your area I would highly recommend them. 310-515-6859.

Yup,

Giddy up Transport (giddyupgotransport.com/) moved my boat from NC to Al, very reasonable, Ask for Sonny. 512.587.6268. Came on time, communicated the whole way.

I also had a good experience with UShip getting a Polaris X2 from NY to Georgia. Just make sure you get a copy of their insurance information and check to make sure that it is still valid before finalizing the deal.

I would highly recommend Gerry Cameron from Cameron Marine Transport out of Murphysboro, IL.

Office: 618-687-2800
Cell: 618-727-2337

He was very competitive on his price and extremely careful and professional in handling my boat.

This was a recent move from St. Louis to Charlotte, NC.

When I bought my boat in Virginia, and had it transported to me in Florida, I was not happy with the local quotes. So, I got a recommendation for a shipping website and was very happy with the price, quality, and professionalism of my move.

The website is http://www.uship.com/

It runs as a kind of reverse e-bay, where selected vendors bid and compete to get your business. You get to review their feedback and ask them questions. It is a great way to line up moving an item!

Good Luck!!!!
