Looking for info about modifying 330DA helm seat from standard mechanical adjustment to a bolster style flip up seat.
Any advice or direction would be great.

Every once in a while this idea comes up. Where it generally ends is that it's far more cost effective to use a cushion or throwable to create the bolster than buying a new captains seat. A new pedestal alone is a grand or more. Big boat bucks for that added comfort...

This is on my list of things to do. I wanted to update my helm and other cockpit seating so when I do that I'll probably do the seat. Other than the cost factor, I don't think this would be hard at all. Remove the factory seat which is very easy on my boat and install the new seat.
Looking at what you wrote a little closer, I suspect you're talking about a similar looking seat to what's there from the factory, just with the flip up bolster? Just as easy I'm sure.

Depending on access to the bolts below the floor, yes, it could/should be an easy swap. But for $2,000 I'd rather buy some nifty electronics or a whole bunch of fuel :)

I hear you, but isn't a little added comfort what boats are all about?
It's only money. They print more everyday... lol

So my thought is (winter project) remove the current seat, separate the back from the seat part, take it to my upholstery guy and tell him what I want. Basically cut the front 6-8" portion (along the piping line) off and turn that into the bolster part. I found bolster seat hardware online (Gate Keepers, I think) for less than $100. So who knows it might work for less than $2,000 for sure. I'm shooting for less than $500.

Check this out...found on the web years ago.

Yep, I've seen that one too. I don't really want that big of production or footprint. A boating buddy has a 2006 Rinker 342 and it has the type of bolster/ helm see I'm describing so I know the concept will work. I'm super excited to get it done but I know it will be a "next year" thing.

I can't wait to get the boat on the water this year!!!! It feels like its been a really long winter. We go in on May 2nd:)
