I am the owner of a 2000 270DA with 7.4L BravoIII. Bought it new and have been cruising the Bay. I only have 210 hours on it after 7 years. It is finally getting to the point where it needs all new canvas and is starting to have other age related issues.

I joined to get guidance and info on keeping my boat up with out breaking the bank or my back. I am fairly handy and am willing to tackle most minor repairs.

Thanks,

Cliff Lee

Welcome..great boat !

Where are you on the South River?? We're at a community marina on Beard's Creek (around the corner from Mike's). With regards to replacement canvas, there are a lot of good canvas shops around. For the last Sea Ray we had (1987 270DA) I made the replacement canvas myself. I took the easy way out and just ordered (and received yesterday) replacements for this boat from Great Lakes. Supposedly they are cut to the factory original patterns and all that needs to be done is install the snaps. Weather permitting I'll find out this weekend.

Mike HHH,

I am at Anchor Yacht Basin in Selby Bay.

I tried Great Lakes for the canvas and they said that they no longer have the pattern for my 2000 model?? They could not quote and recommended going to a local shop or back to Sea Ray.

Welcome. This is a great forum for knowledge and making new friends. There are many reputable canvas shops around. I, however, chose poorly.

Do not use Son of A Sailor Canvas (Pat Malay) in Mt. Joy, PA. My $.02
