Hello to the entire Sea Ray family of owners and friends of owners. I have spent the last nine seasons aboard my 1988 Sea Ray 390EC and I am still in love with the boat. My experience has been virtually problem free due to a quallified set of professionals working on her and my committment to maintenance and up-keep. However, I have recently developed a complex problem involving eater trapped between the sub-floor and hull. It got there from a combination of problems involving a leaking window (minor), failed shower sump (significant) and a disconected fresh water coolant line to the front airconditionser (MAJOR) all at the same time! Now I made the mistake of laying the boat up for the winter and realized I have water trapped under the salon below the sub-floor under the center hatch! Has anyone ever experienced this problem. Is that area bulk-headed? How do I get the water out? Am I in danger of damaging the stringers? Help!

Happy Holidays and remember boating season is right around the corner!

Welcome fellow buckeye...(the W is mighty close to the E ! )

Is the boat in heated storage? Do you have access to a moisture meter? Call SeaRay customer service and get the drawings. Get a shop vac and carefully srart drilling. It's not as bad as it seems. Good luck.

Thank you for the razzing and the info. I did in fact mean water and yes the water did freeze in the compartment. I used a small hole saw to expose the problem and plan to pump the water out at the first sign of a thaw. I need to know if there is flotation in the compartment and if anyone had a similar problem and what long term damage was done. I will call Sea Ray for the drawings. Thanx, and always remember that the most intelligent people on earth are generally the worst spellers!!!
