Anyway, Hello!

Welcome aboard! Great looking boat! a lot of us old SRO members are finding our way here. Glad you finally decided to join in!

If your anywhere near Portage stop on in at Marina Shores, just across Burns Ditch from the Portage Municipal Docks. We've got about 50 displaced boaters from Hammond there for the year.

Jason-

Glad to see you on the board. Boat looks great, now if we can just get this lake ( Michigan ) to warm up a bit faster we will have it all.

Actually, Im slipped right down the Burns Ditch... so I pass by there every time I head out!

(I heard that they may not even have the Hammond Marina up and running by next Summer! ugh!)

Marina Shores is one nice looking place (and glad to see that they threw in some pumps there... hopefully, it'll be cheaper than Lefty's was in the past... :smt038

Stop on by for beer some time. I'm on A dock furthest west.
Two weeks ago our gas was $4.25 since the because Marquette Yacht Club was $3.40 John the harbormaster has lowered it and is going to match the others.
I don't think Hammond will be ready either. They are about 4 1/2 months behind schedule.
Now if Marina Shore would just get our boaters facilities finished and pool open I would be happy.

Sounds great.
Is Marina shores just opening the slips there this year?
(I thought they were all going to be owned by the condo owners?)

Marina Shores is leasing out the slips
Homeowners (if there ever are any) will have preference
Really looks like it is going to be slow sales there
As it is I think only 170 of 300 slips are rented.
Still waiting for showers, bathrooms, pool and restaurant.

I was just talking with a friend... he says the whole place is a little overpriced?

I drove through there today... the place does look nice (granted, anything 'NEW' in that area is going to look nice...)

Took a dinghy ride Sunday and think I saw your boat.
You up on a lift on the south side of the ditch across from the old Key West Bar?

Yeah Marina Shores is a bit over priced. $3600 for a 40' slip, but if all of the amenities get up and running it might be worth it.
Great group running it though. Always available to help out. One of the guys even threw my 6 hp merc in his jeep and drove it down to the dock gate and then walked it down to my dinghy!

By the way, good looking boat!
Dan

Yup, that was mine.

Thanks on the compliments.

We actually went there Sunday to install the second battery that I just bought... along with a few odd / end detailing... but couldnt pass up the opportunity to head out for the first time!

We went around in Marina Shores... that place is beautiful...

Are there any public meeting places (restaurants / such) in the back there?

Jason
Stop by next time. I am on the A dock, furthest west, slip 236.
The building at the end of A dock will be a restaurant and bar on the upper level with 2 decks overlooking the pool and marina. On the lower level will be the ship's store and boater facilities with showers and laundry areas. Washrooms and showers should be completed within 2 weeks along with the pool.
I am usually at the boat Fri pm till Sun pm.
