Hi there!
I baught my first boat a year ago as I was deploying for Iraq. It is a 1977 SRV220, which means its a cuddy cabin with a hard top. I first saw one about 5 years ago, but it needed completely redone so I decided to get a Harley instead. I have looked for another one ever since then and only found a few, but the time and/or the money wasnt right. I found this one online and had Dad go pick it up on Fathers day! (Thanks Dad ! youre the best!!) We tried it out, with little luck then had to wrap it up while I shipped out. It then sat in Mom and Dads yard for the next 10 months till I came home on leave. The first thing we did was pump 3.5 gallons of water out of the engine:( then we pumped about 30 gallons of old gas out of the tank. New oil and filter and we hooked her up to the garden hose and we were in business!!! Took her out on a small lake near home,,,Still in business, over the next 2 weeks while I was home on leave, I managed to put almost 700 miles on her, according to the gps!!!! Im so proud of her!!! For pictures check out my website www.land-shark.net and then follow the rest and relaxation link.

Im so proud I just wanted to share!!!

Wade:

Welcome to CSR and a big thank you for your service in the military. That is a good looking boat you have. Hurry home so that you can enjoy it some more.

Welcome aboard. I kinda like the hard top, nice boat!
Stay safe and hope your back boating soon.

I like the hard top too, I suppose its really no different than a canvas top, but I like the protection from the elements it affords.

Thanks for all the warm welcomes gang!!! Ive signed up for other forums that just didnt have much activity!

Welcome Aboard  . Post some pics of your boat in the virtual marina :smt024 .

Ive been meaning to, but I think my pics are too big, I need to get them onto my computer and resize them.... I am deployed and cant get my computer onto the net,,, so I have to jockey them around on thumb drives!!!

I have some pics on my wensite though

Wade,

Thanks for your brave service. Keep safe.

Very nice boat! In my youth, a family that is close to mine had an earlier version of the same boat. It had a different interior, and no windows below the windshield, but the hull was the same. It was a great boat! You will enjoy. I'd be careful of that OMC outdrive, though. They can really bite you. I would change the outdrive oil very often (as in about every other time you use it), and do your best to keep the water sealed out. This will help.

Also, I'm not a big fan of hydro foils, but the Doel Fin will give that boat a nice performance boost.

Anyway, enjoy her. It is hard to get that much boat in 22.5 feet, and the styling is beautiful.

Weve put some thought into ditching the omc, but of course to do that would mean glassing over the old hole and cutting a new one,,, Im not scared of that project, but when she is running great I cant justify it.

Im gonna show my inexperience here but what do you mean when you refer to the Hyrdro foil and the Doel Fin??? I think you are talking about parts of the outdrive, but Im not sure...

As for the rest of you,, THANK YOU for all the support. These days with all the bickering in congress its good to know people still support the troops. I always say that you dont have to support the war,, but support the troops!!!! Thank you guys youre the best!!!!
