Hello from a new Club Sea Ray member.

I just got back from the maiden voyage of my 1989 SeaRay 200BR. I actually bought this boat several years ago for my dad. We experimented with it some and didn't get it running very good. It sat for about 3 years and now I turned it over to a friend of mine who cleaned it up and put a carburetor on it because someone stole it's carburetor while it was stored in a backyard. That friend and I just took it to the lake and it was very smooth and impressive. It feels like a large boat, and steered so easy. I am used to my sidewinder jet boat, and this was a big change. I understand the engine options for the 200BR in 1989 were only two different 4.3 liter motors and this one is the 205hp version with the four barrel carb. We drove around with our wives while the sunset and it was a good cruise. The boat doesn't perform very good, and I will have some questions about that in the technical section once I get familiar with this message board.

Welcome...I had the same boat & engine.

welcome. i just picked up my '89 200BR tonight as well. mine's blue and white.

Tell me about your 200BR's! What is the highest rpm you can reach, what is your top speed? I can only manage about 3500 rpm and 35mph. I know this boat should reach 4600 rpm and 45 mph. I have a 19p prop, and had two adults and one child on board.

Nice boats. I have the CC version with the 175 HP version. Something's night right to have such low RPM's. However, you're speed doesn't sound like it matches your RPM's. I know I run about 30 at 3600 and about 39 at 4500 (and that's with a dirty hull). Maybe your tach is off???
