Looks like I will make my run to storage sometime this weekend. I'm going 3-4 weeks early this year. I'm tired of gambling on Lake Superior fall weather. I might stay in the water a while on the other side.

Hmmm. What to do. Long range forecast by Environment Canada for the fall is for above normal temperatures and above normal precipitation. We head to Spain for 10 days near the end of September though and by mid October the cool weather and higher fall winds limit the good boating days. Probably will pull it right when we get back and grab all the nice days we can between now and then.

I always swear to myself I'll keep the boat in an use it that one or two perfect fall days. I must be dreaming because it never happens. :)

This summer went by incredibly fast.... we never really took a vacation and here labor day came and went. I have been tossing around the idea of going into storage early as well and get on with winter

Pulling mine Monday at 1030.

I won't pull out until late October...

Mid October for me in Rochester. Went for a ride alone today on the lake. Beautiful day

I just got my boat. No way to want to take it out early. But my son just got on a new fall baseball team so my fall will be like my summer. Insurance says my boat has to be out of the water by Nov 1, so I guess that's my deadline.

Mine comes out next weekend... but I have no choice... they start letting the water out this weekend for the damn whitewater season!

Same here, seems like I just put the boat in. When I was still towing with my 280DA I'd stay in late. One time went to pull the boat on a Friday, didn't get out of there until Sunday afternoon because of snow.

To find decent indoor storage for the 420DA I head west across the end of the lake. Had a couple nasty trips I don't want to repeat so crossing earlier now. The worst trip was forecasted to be nice right up to when I was out there and then it wasn't. Squall after squall popped up, that lake got real bad real fast. Lost the autopilot and got quite a workout without it. I just don't want to do that kind of stuff anymore....getting old I guess.:(

Geez! I’ve been coming out a few days before Thanksgiving but decided to try to come out a little early this year. A little early is somewhere around 11/15.
Probably won’t leave the dock all that much in November but I can still hang out and putter around with things with the heat on.
Also, I don’t want to get packed in the boatyard too deep and not be able to go back in by the first week in April.
I was actually thinking of staying in for the winter all wrapped and winterized then coming out for a short haul in May to do the bottom, zincs, polish and wax the sides, but I may have my bulkhead rebuilt this winter.
Lots of boats on my canal store in the water over the winter and then do the Spring short haul once the boatyards have some space for them.

Yep... This Summer went fast.

I left mine up in Cornucopia all Summer Woody. The damn Mississippi was flooded most of the Summer. Did some great island hopping and caught some nice lakers tho.

For us, after labor day, weekends start stacking up with our daughters school. We may go out once or twice in September, then it's over. :( Labor Day weekend in Corni is pretty much the end for us as well.

You don't hear that everyday..... I wish there was white water rafting here instead of the niagara falls holding everything back.....we could lose a few feet :)

I don't have an actual haulout date yet, we'll be at the boat each weekend until then, 2-3 more probably. Do the boats thin out in Cornucopia after Labor Day? We drove there by car last year to check it out mid summer, place was jam packed with boats.

Not as bad as it sounds.... pulling here In Michigan on Monday but launching in Florida on Friday. I’ll only be off the water for 3 days.
Now that sounds like one h*ll of a plan!!! that's now a life goal!

Lake Superior I get.

Here on Lake Michigan, last weekend in October but only because the harbor closes Nov. 1.

Came out today, strip bottom next two weekends then in heated storage.

I'm in a marina surrounded by sailboats while I wait for haulout. I don't mind the wind noises howling through the rigging but all that shit slapping, banging, and clanging could drive a guy nuts.
