I just bought my 87 270 Sundancer. In the photos of the boat there was an elect flush head. When I bought the boat there was a porta-potty there. If I want to put another head in where is the holding tank on this boat? I can find the old hoses in the access hole on the back wall of the head, but I can't find any access to a holding tank anywhere! Any suggestions?

Look at the hose for the pump out fitting and see where it goes. It's attached to the holding tank.

Well, after contacting the PO, found out he just had a direct pump out without a holding tank, and got boarded by fish and game officers. Recieved a hefty fine and took out the old system. Now I am stuck with a porta potty and it has a crack in the holding tank where the mounting bracklet sits. Should I get a porcelin head with a small holding tank mounted at it's base, or go back with the cheesy porta potty? My a/c-d/c converter sits where the holding tank is supposed to be mounted, so that is another hurdle.

Check out the Dometic Sealand 970 series porta potti. At least you can get it with a 5 gallon holding tank. The 975MSD is for a pumpout situation. Don't know your boat but all you need is a pumpout hose, vent hose and deckplate. See 240SD head upgrade post in the sport boat forum. Good luck!

Thanks for the advice. I will try to post some pics of the install when I get going on it.
