I just got off of the phone with them and they not only raised their rates to $4.67/ft. but they insisted that I give them the width of my swim platform and added that to the length of the boat. So instead of paying for a 46, I now get charged for 50. I guess I am being cheap but that is a lot of money per foot for that place considering the amount of money you spend there in general. so that wanted $750 for three nights. I have paid a lot more then that at other marina's but never here on the Chesapeake. Is it me or is that crazy?

It's high.

It's not uncommon for marinas to charge for actual length.

We haven't been there in at least 3 years. Does that include their "resort fee"? Do they not still do the "stay 2 nights/3rd night free" deal? (Or something like that?)

Head on down to Tides Inn, they are even higher.

Like I said I guess I am just being cheap. Last year they were a flat fee of $150 a night. Was just shocked at the increase.

Been to Tides, great place.

I get the total length thing I guess, but why not just charge for the slip it self.

They do not have a resort fee this year, last year they did not charge for that either but gave it because of the covid thing. But they were $150/night total and not by foot. No 3rd night free this or last year. I am staying four night this year.

I get how bad slips can be, I mean Block Island charges $6/ft. and Montauk get's $9. That is a bit crazy.

Montauk Yacht Club is now $10/ft. on weekends. They charge by actual LOA, which for the 58 Sedan Bridge is 61'. A weekend night there is $670....and that's without the $22 drinks.

Man that is just crazy and we use to go out there and Block every year for years. I was quoting 2yrs ago prices, but I get the LOA, I'm 52' with the platform. I know I am just crying for no good reason, I have always said - if you can't run with the big boys, stay at the dock! And I am not staying at the dock! Star Island use to sell that bump sticker.

That's a lot of money in my opinion, and yes I've always been charged for actual LOA including the swim platform.

It’s high. Very high. Especially for the Bay and fixed docks. Charging for LOA isn’t u usual however.

I’m also curious if they still have the resort fee added on.

Yep, a bonus I guess, the resort fee is included with the slip rate. St. Michaels is $4/ft. but doesn't scrutinize over the LOA.

You’re staying at the wrong places in St Michael’s!

And where would you stay? I am a member of the museum but they're always full. Higgin's is like always a 3 week in advance booking always and I just booked the Hotel and it's $3.95/ft. I won't stay at St. Michael's Marina any more, but that is the most expensive.

I have great luck at Higgins. But I do book ahead of time. I’ve priced put joining the museum - I have friends that stay there. If it was just for the slips, it’s not a deal. But the museum membership addd to it makes it better. But yeah, Higgins is the place. But the secret is out on them and you can’t wait to the last minute. If I were faced with $4 a foot at St Mike’s I’d be going to Herrington, Tilghman, Oxford or Chestertown...

That's funny, we're going to Herrington, St. Mikes then Oxford next week. Higgin's isn't an option us since they don't have a pool and we travel with kids.

Geez….. I cringe at $2.50 a foot….. last two places I stayed were $2.00/ft and thought what a deal

Just got back from Herrington H. North this past weekend. Great time. Going back next weekend then to Oxford and Cambridge for the week.
