Hawks Channel or ICW to Key West?

One of the hardest things I find I have to do is trust my chartplotter, specially in clean clear waters of the Keys and Bahamas. If you watch the water it always looks shallower than it is. That said I just know one of these days a coral head is gonna jump up and take my drive off! Don't be skeptical, happened to a family friend in the Abacos. Ouch!
It's easy to get out of the channel/ICW as PartnerShip eludes to, so keep a close eye on George!
I'll second the Holiday Isle stop. Put your card on the ceiling of the tiki hut.
