Anyone else ever have trouble removing these screws? On the back rail I go 2 out of 4 out the other 2 just spin. On the side rails there are only 2 the one screws head is stripped and the other just spins as well. I tried prying and unscrewing at the same time,no luck.
Can anyone help? This is what im trying to remove.

I believe there is a bolt on the underside of the fiberglass that you can put a wrench on. That should allow you to pull the screw out and remove the rail. Worst case, Dremel the bolt off on the underside.

Mine are not machine screws/nuts. They are the "wood screw type". I'd dremel it off. You'll never get a wrench on it if there's a nut. Those tubes are hollow, BTW. Same material as your bow rail. You could, theoretically, cut that away to see what you're dealing with.

I removed 2 of them, they were wood screw type, just not real point on the end,but definatly not machined screws. I would imagine the rest would be the same, they look the same on top anyway?
I just dont know,I went ahead and sealed up my other window so now there both leak free :) so thats one job out of the way!
Im out of daylight here,so im going to try to pull off the rails tomorrow,so if you have any idea what my problem is,or suggestions on how to remove them let me know

I think they should have a nut on them .Not all of them but a few ,dont ask why feel up under the gunnel through the carpet .The sliding windows were the same way pull the carpet back to get at the nut.

Yep there were bolts, way under there. It was hard as hell to get to but I got em!. Both side rails had bolts, the big back rail had 2 screws in the center and 2 bolts on the ends
Im still uncertain how the plugs work? arnt they tappered and you pound them in tight then cut off the top,now if I did that I would have to stain them to match and wouldnt there be a blotchy area where I done this?

Yes they are tapered, and you should not have a blotchy area where you stain but you will see the top of the plug. You should be able to see that anyway so you know next time where they are so you can remove them for repair to the rail if need be.
