Haulout Time

Your cold weather made it down to Chattanooga this weekend. 65° at night, 85° in the day. Low humidity, not a cloud in the sky. It was a great weekend to be on the water. Our water temp is dropping, down to 83° - soon there will be "shrinkage" (with apologies to George on Seinfeld)!

I'm sorry to post this on the Haulout Thread!

It was cool, 50-60's and blowing up here all weekend. Sunday night took a beating at the marina, checked lines a few times through the nite, had to hang on down in the cabin to stay standing. Forecast was for 55knt winds on Sunday late.

There's a big white pine tree on property next to the marina. The wind blew gobs of pitch all over my boat, had to wash it yesterday before we left.

Water temps are a bit cooler up here now, shrinkage of Mr Bodangles would definitely be a 'thing'. But we don't have much problem with stuff growing on our hull, so there is a benefit.:)

These are nite water temps, daytime it's a little warmer.

Yikes! Some of those temps are in the low 30’s! Our water temps are about 68 degrees at surface down in Georgian Bay open water. Interestingly I was salmon fishing Sunday and water temps were 68 surface, and 65 at 100ft down. 105 feet it was 50 degrees. Deep thermocline.

I had the boat taken out teusday ,we only had one 4 day stay at port austin this summer and three decent days on weekends to go out for a ride and no beach time at all.I was so disappointed i had her pulled about a month and a half early. Hopefully this will be my last year working full time and i will get more boating time.I need to figure out what to do with a few more weeks of vacation time though.

I'm currently planning on getting pulled this weekend. As such, all you Michigan boaters can expect 2-3 more weeks of glorious fall weather coming up :)
Exactly, I’m being pulled today.. That’s why the forecast this weekend is sunny and 70’s

Getting pulled next Monday (Oct 12th). Hope to have a good ride to the winter storage facility Saturday, which is to be in the mid 70's. Once the boat is put away for the winter storage, I determine will if I accomplish any projects. Mainly cosmetic but things we would like to get done.

No plans to come out yet..... going to the island this weekend with a few boats :).... you Michiganders are a little soft skinned

Today is better than waiting for 45 degrees with rain blowing sideways. Makes things lots easier and more enjoyable.

Mine stays in the water year-long. Just bought her a boathouse and joined a yacht club. Thankful we don’t get crazy cold winters in the PNW.

This seems to happen every year, you know, that cold icy winter thing.

When will there be a solution?

Why when a dem is president and all of the house and senate are dems too.It will be called "global warming recreational tax on poor men with toys including 4 wheelers trucks snowmobiles boats and really nice lawn mowers" dont hold your breath.

Pulled a little early to get a head start on new boat projects. Still a sad day

Good meeting you last month, and yep, I'm out too.

I'm sure we'll cross paths next year. We had a Baltic cruise postponed to 2022, so if Canada lets us in, we're doing a Trent trip.

you too man! Let us know when you head our way and I'll do the same, I plan on burning a heck of a lot of fuel next year and if Canada is fair game I want to go at least a couple different ports on the other side.

Cool, we'll keep in touch.
