I need suggestions on yards in Boston that can handle a haul out and dismantle of electronics and props to load a 48 Sundancer for overland transport. Suggestions?

Hingham Shipyard Marina and Bay Point Marina in Quincy should both be able to accommodate.

Does anyone have a suggestion on transportation companies?

You might want to call Russo Marine, they are a large Sea Ray dealership in Boston, on the Neponset River off Boston Harbor. They might be able to either handle it directly, or recommend qualified folks to help out that they use for their Sea Rays.

Try cross country boat transport. Family run business, did right by me and several others for some long haul transport. Very knowledgeable folks particularly with Sea Rays.

First off where in the Boston area? The two locations given are south of Boston. Keep in mind the highway going through Boston is extensively tunnel and large boats are excluded either for over width or hazardous cargo issue. As a result, large boats on tractor trailers need to go around the city. The direction you are planning to truck the boat has a big impact on where you decide to haul.

Although we are located on the North Shore, the boatyard where we have stored our 280 might be able to help with the transport depending on where you are going. The yard is storage only, and our 280 is usually the smallest in the yard. The guy that runs the place does a lot of boat delivery work once the yard activity drops off (like now). I know he moves boats all over New England. He has a custom built hydraulic trailer that can easily handle a 45 DA. His name is Andy Haley and his numbers are:+1 (978) 356-7416 for the boatyard and (978) 270-4494 for his mobile. I'd start with his cell as the activity in the yard may be winding down.

For cross country moving there is Jocelyn in Newburyport

Don't know much about Boston... but I bought my old boat there and used Russo Marina to handle getting the boat ready to transport... they are a joke... they cut the wires on arch instead of disconnecting them and stole equipment (i.e. Teak table) from the boat while they had it... I complained to the management and sea ray directly and they did nothin for me.. and not to mentioned ripped me a new one with the bill they sent me and didn't even donhalf the work... go anywhere else you can go.., but forget about Russo's... place is a joke..

Thank you guys, very helpful The boat is just south of Boston so I'm hoping tunnels will not become a factor. I will call Andy.

You can also try Journey's End Marina in ME for transport, I have heard great tings about them. They will tell you which yards they recommend for haulout near Boston.

Marina Bay (Brewers) can pull large boats and drop on trailer. My boat is here at this marina. You may also want to try Continental Marine Services in Weymouth. Paul Griffith is the owner. He does transportation as well. Paul is at 617-479-5799
