Has Sea Ray gone stupid ???

Now we have a open minded discussion going.

270 da lover, thank you for providing above board customer service, and personal responsibility, in a time of diminishing character.

I know its winter, get a grip on life, so I b*tched, so what.. get over it.

I'm glad you did... I doubt the topic would have been so popular without your catchy title. I think it's a good topic to hash out and for the manufacturers to hear the viewpoint of the consumers. I'm sure Sea Ray has outstanding market research but it's good to hear from the users of their product in an uncontrolled environment and I think the diversity on CSR fairly represents all levels of their customer base. It's not that we're complaining or that we have a mob mentality that has the power to make changes, it's that we're a representative voice of all Sea Ray owners.

Thanks TB for understanding at what I said, :smt001

moparlvr4406 = no class. boo hoo that you un-friended me.

As a network engineer and code writer I will admit I had to look up combination wrench. I know what a gear puller is and where I'm from combination wrenches are just called end wrenches. I guess I'm not working for the right guy as my year end bonuses are nowhere close. But hey I have less stress now so I'm good. Like others have said. Let them keep buying. That way my second boat can slowly make its way to me.
LOL,I guess I should have gone with "some" programmers/code writers. Did not mean to imply 'all'. I picked on programmers because I have a friend working for Nortel Networks. He was able to cash in some stock options before 'the crash' and bought a house and a Type-R Acura Integra cash. If the silicon valley balloon had not burst he was looking at being able retire at 40. Professional Mechanics make a distinction between open ended wenches, box end wrenches, and combination wrenches. I guess for most people a wrench is a wrench. My point was there are professions where a new boat is still a discretionary income option, rather than an all-in life choice or simply out of reach. My brother-in-law owns a couple of critical care veterinary clinics. Back when he was getting started (with the fist vet hospital) his income was over $350K/Year. He still did not qualify for a personal Banker, or even the well touted Bush "Rich Person" tax breaks! Basically, he was still considered "Middle Class". This was a mind numbing eye opener for me, as to both where I am on the scale, and how many people are between me and the one percent.

Yeah thats why I'm comfortable shooting for the top 5%. No need being a member of the 1%. Now if I blow past my goals and end up there I'll just survive. L)

Jonathan, If I had more time, I'd love to take you up on that offer. :smt001

Well Searay must be doing something right a friend of mine just purchased a 350SLX. Upwards of $250000.00 for a bow rider.

Wow, May '06 I got a price of 203K(no generator) on a brand new 2005 340DA. Like a dummy I changed my mind thinking who would ever need a boat so big and bought the 280DA that was next to it.:smt101

SOmebody pull out the AED, I think my heart just stopped! :wow:
The picture of that page is the "sticker price". That is the starting point for negotiations. Nobody pays sticker price for a boat. Like nobody pays sticker price for a car.

There was a 350 SLX that sold at the boat show in Charlotte last month. I guess there is a market for 35' bowriders but I don't get it. I don't want to boat with 25 of my closest friends.

Jim, I don't think it's about boating with 25 of your closest friends, though we've done that. In a boat like that it's more about "look what I can afford" and "my **** is bigger than yours!"
