Just wondering who on the board frequents Hart-Miller Island and the various destinations along Middle River.
How about any who slip at Gunpowder Cove. I know some of you winter at Gunpowder but who stays for the summer?

It's the playground for people in the Middle River area. On a good weekend you probably get 75-80 boats anchoring there to enjoy the day.
They have a public rest room and somewhat of a beach. A pit beef boat and pizza boat used to float there also. It's been a few years for me so I'm not quite sure. All this occurs on the west side of the Island.

Back in "the go fast, single days" I was out there what seemed every Saturday and Sunday. I have never had my 370 DA out there, but maybe once or twice a season I'll take the little boat out there. Couple things...........it always seems rough because of boat traffic, so you can't raft off and it does get rowdy. To me there are too many better places to go then Hart / Miller that are not to far from Gunpowder...............join us over Still Pond June 2nd and you will see what I'm talking about.

P.S. I saw your boat this past weekend, due to the cold I lost a week. I stop down sometime this upcoming weekend to see if you are around.

We tried anchoring there last year. Arrived about noon on a Sunday and the area by the beaches was crowded so we couldn't get in very close. Instead we went down to Drum Point and anchored in about 3 ft of water. The area was nice, but we were pretty close to the channel and were rocked pretty badly by passing boats' wakes.

Perhaps if we had arrived earlier we might have been able to anchor nearer the beaches out of the wakes.

I may do the Still Pond meet on June 2nd. Have never been there and I dying to use the new chartplotter out.
I have nothing to do this weekend (for a change) so I'll definately be there if the weather holds out. I'll look for you.

Never been to Hart-Miller, as the scouting report I received is that this area has turned into the Chesapeake Bay’s version of a Redneck Riviera on summer weekends. Now, please, it’s not necessary to chastise me ala Don Imus for a politically incorrect slur – I’m just the messenger here.

havent been there since the early 90s but it sounds like it hasnt changed much. lotsa muscleheads, silicone and string bikinis, from what i recall. also lotsa fun for the younger crowd (which i was a part of 15 years ago).

for you barnegat dwellers (and FORMER barnegat dwellers - ie: Frank H.), it's sort of the illegitimate child of F-cove and Tices Shoal.

i remember the pit beef boat! got me many-a sandwich wrapped in wax paper from there.
