Garmin 4208 - running hot
I have a Garmin gpsmap 4208. It's working, but have noticed that after a while two golf-ball sized bright spots develop in the center area of the screen. The screen also gets pretty hot, much warmer than it used to. I also don't hear the internal fan running any more. Therefore I suspect that the internal fan has conked out and the unit is running hotter than normal.
Has anyone seen similar symptoms? Or replaced the internal fan? If so any ideas on the replacement part?
I know I could send it to Garmin, but it will be a flat repair fee of several hundred bucks and I'll be out the plotter for quite a while.
