Harley Ensign Boat Launch Lake St Clair

That's pretty cool. Checked out some of your other vids as well. What are you using for a camera/drone set up if you don't mind my asking?

Thanks Thornton! I am using a DJI Phantom 2 with a GoPro Hero 3+. I just added an FPV (first person view). This allows me to fly the drone without having to physically see it. I can use the FPV video display to fly it.

I have a feeling Santa will be giving a lot of these away this Christmas.

Great video. I assume there used to be a cut to the 3 docks and it was filled in at some point......

I have no idea what the docks are for. It's actually pretty difficult to see those ponds on foot. There seems to be a lot of discussion regarding the ponds in another forum. I'll let you know if any comes up a plausible explanation.

Ok....I give up....what's a "harley ensign"?

Harley Ensign is the name of the boat launch I filmed this at. I believe it's named after a former Sheriff of Macomb County, Michigan which the the county the launch is in (kind of an unusual name). The building in the video with the look out tower (kind of hard to see) is for the Macomb County Sheriff Marine Division.

Got A link?

Not sure but my guess is those are net pens in the pond for rearing fish. Likely walleye.

Or muskie, they use larger ponds for walleye and most of them are donated by fishing club members. The walley population has come back so well in lake huron the dnr is now stocking inland lakes with the fry from those donated ponds.

Great vids. You definitely have an eye for a good photo and good composition and good editing skills. I'd love to have a copter like that but I keep buying boats and that burns up all my "disposable personal income"!

Thanks for sharing the videos. Good job.

If only I had 55' worth of disposable income :) My bucket ran dry at 30'. I agree, the video is outstanding. Drones have created a whole new world of personal photography and the video is so good today as well. Seems like just yesterday people were hauling VHS tape cameras around on their shoulder.

Thanks guys. If I didn't enjoy making these videos some much, I would find it very difficult spending the money. But, I really enjoy every aspect of making these simple videos.
