The carpets in the boat are a bit dated and I was considering changing them and saw some pictures on here of folks that did hardwood. It's looks terrific. Looking to have this done in Long Island - anyone from Long Island have this done? Can you recommend someone?

    Thanks for the help!

    Morning Kevin,

Love these pictures, haven't seen them. Where on Long Island do you keep your boat - very nice! I am sold on the idea of the floor, but don't want to take the project on. Hoping to find someone that hired a contractor that they liked in the area so I can get it done over the winter.

You still in the water? We are all out and winterized, oil changes and even started a recaulking project...did the rebedding last year.

Have a good weekend! Thanks again for the pictures!

I installed plasteak on my 330 its a lot more durable and waterproof. I did it in the spring while the boat was in the water. I used simple tools a table saw jig saw. chop saw and a sander.
I have a ton of pictures posted on facebook group

Nuteak just quoted me $9,500.00 for Cabin, Aft and forward berth installed. I started to like my carpet again :)

When we first bought the boat we had a guy that restores/updates motor homes take a look at redoing all the carpet in the boat - base boards, steps every bit of carpet and he was around $1,500.00. I thought that was very reasonable. My wife wanted hardwood... but pricing is ridiculous if you can't do it yourself.
We had all the carpet professionally cleaned which was all that was wrong with it. This year we are getting new runners to go over the carpet. It's still canvas but it has a bit of a texture to it.... So it should update it a bit.

Our new boat had hardwoods when we bought it, it sure looks and feels great. Worth doing.

Wrong question. the correct question is: Do you know how great my life is and how many beers I get when the Admiral is happy? LOL

Do you have any friends or acquaintances that are meticulous wood workers that you might get to do it for you?

I was shocked with that number.... Nuteak said just material was $2,000... I really don't get that number either and $7,500 to install??
I asked about Faux teak in the cockpit and he said without the swim platform it was $10k.... I dont know who is paying these numbers but it isnt going to be me

    9500 is nuts.
    1500 to re-carpet a 420 is a great price though.
Luckily the PO of my boat used runners and kept up with the cleaning of the carpet.
I got a crazy price to do the faux teak in my cockpit too so I went with the Corinthian product in a teak pattern instead and I’m glad I did. If I ever get tired of it, it goes out of style, or gets damaged, it will be easy to replace.

We are looking at Infinity and Corinthian for the cockpit as well.

Just finished the s cond season with mine and it still looks like the day I installed it. Great product, easy to keep clean, and to remove to avoid damage or staining when doing maintenance work in the bilge.
It does got hot on bare feet in direct sunlight, but other than that there is no downside.

I think the number of hours of labor is crazy in the confined space of a boat cabin as there are no open spaces to install fast to spread the cost per square foot over.

Steve....Maybe give Marine Max a call. I’m sure the are expensive, but maybe you can work the name of their subcontractor out of them.
