Hard to Believe!

My Admiral occasionally comes out with the "sell the boat" line. I usually find the remedy is to take her up to the marina and the feeling goes away the closer she gets to the boat.

Like many here my plan is to take Chez-nous back to Florida and then live aboard for a couple of months while visiting different parts of the state. Maybe even cut over to the Bahamas and work my way around the islands? All I need is a good Wi-fi connection and I can work remotely.

My wife loves boating and is committed to the lifestyle.

12 years ago when our kids were babies (the third one yet to be born), we decided to take a plunge and buy a weekend cabin 45 miles from our home town on Lake Guntersville. It was a great idea. Instead of toting three kids and all their junk to Disney or the Beach all the time for vacation, we vacation at our own home most weekends. All our junk is there waiting - boats, toys, clothes - just bring beer and food each week. Great boathouse so I can just drop the boat or jet skis easily in the water anytime I like. No hassle loading a cooler or anything, just come back to the boathouse where we have a fridge. Its amazing how much we use the boats (not a lot of hours, but tons of little trips).

Now the cabin is paid off. We plan to move there when we retire and the kids are all off to college. My happy place!

Message is - don't be afraid to take the plunge for a place you can use a lot.
