"Harbor" or "Marina?"

Indeed. I have one of each.

Admittedly, the SeaRay was the more recent aquisition and is now used much more. But next time we go to the Carribean. . .we are renting a big catamaran blowboat, and not a Cruiser.

My Marina, Canyon Club is located inside Cape May Harbor. A harbor can have a lot of marinas.

I recently heard of a marina that changed ownership, and the new owners changed its name to "-- Harbor" at the same time that they raised their slip rental rates. Next thing you know, the Ship's Store will be called the Harbor Shoppe....

I vote "harbor" is the actual body of water protected from surf conditions, and the "marina" is the area where the boats actually dock up at and provide services.

Unless we are speaking of a woman Marina with whom I harbor bad feelings for.

Marina for me, but I notice that some mid-westerners call it a "harbor." Just taking a roll call here.

Pop or soda?
Pants or trousers?
Down the ocean or Down the shore?
Sauce or Gravy? (for you Italians out there)
Chop Meat or Ground Beef?
Cold Cuts or Lunch Meat?

Coke,Pepsi,Sprite, Sundrop(call it by name neither pop or soda)
Pants (trousers, dungarees are old man words)
At the ocean or to the ocean(Down de oocean is a Baltimore thing, insert ridiculious accent)
Ground Beef
Lunch Meat

Good question.

My vote is the marina is contained within the harbor. My marina has a different name than the harbor. I use both.

I lured you into this one. Having spent 4 years into Bal'mer, I learned all the colloquialisms. "Dan tha ewcean" has to be followed by "Hun."

Done a lot of blow boating. It's better than many stink potters will admit.

How do the blow boaters get the taste out of their mouths?
