Who else went on a Halloween cruise, post some pics.

Our Yacht club just finished the annual Halloween cruise. As I was helping another member shove off this morning I turned around and took this shot of my boat:

Then when I got back to my marina this afternoon I took this picture as we left:

Just wanted to let the rest of you see, its not sunny, its not hot, but its not bad and we are still boating here in the North West :smt001

We did and the weather was fantastic! I will post pictures later...

The Columbia River Yachting Association had an all club Halloween cruise last weekend which included about 90 boats! It was a blast! There was a costume contest, appetizer contest, haunted houses, decorated boats, and trick or treat on the docks etc. All these events took place on an island. Sorry, no pics. :(

The CRYA owns the dock behind Walker Island our favorite spot....

Saturday was awesome weather but I forgot to take pictures. It was a great time...... Friday when we left there was a gale warning for around noon so we took off at 8:00 am and the water was flat, no wind or rain. Got to the rendezvous at around 11:00am, got docked and set up for a web meeting I had scheduled for 12:00. When I got through with the meeting it was raining and blowing as most of the other members came in so we donned rain gear and started catching lines. By about coctail hour the storm had blown over and it was nice. Saturday was awesome and sunny  all day. Lots of activities and cocktails, costume party and Kahlua pork for dinner. Sunday we woke up to a standard fall/winter northwest morning with drizzle and mild temperatures. The ride home was nice with only about 1 foot swells and lots of marine mammals dining on salmon.

I found more photos of this weekend on my wife's iPhone:

Nice pictures, thanks for sharing those.

Pack, thanks for sharing your pics. That halloween cruise looked like fun. It's nice to be able to still be boating, isn't it!!!

Yes it is!
The North West is the best place in the world for year round boating (IMHO)

Wait until I post my pictures. I forgot to bring the camera card to work with me. Mid-70's to low 80's and not a breath of wind!

The "Bay Area" may have a slight edge on us for winter temps, but we have summer temps and scenery hands down..... once again, IMHO. I think as a whole us left coasters have it much better than our mid-land and right coast friends.

Most of the time we do. You have great cruising in the San Juan islands but delta cruising is great. We get to anchor and raft out or choose from dozens of harbors and/or yacht clubs plus dozens of on the water restaraunt & bars. I say anywhere you cruise all yesr is great. We still have club cruises on Thanksgiving weekend, the following weekend for the lighted boat parade and then again for new years eve for a party. Nothing in the water in January though I will be on the water (Change of Watch only) but we start back up in February.

Finally have a chance to post pictures from the weekend.

Yeah, what a great Fall we have had. The weather is supposed to start to cool a bit starting tomorrow but it won't be too bad. I am hoping to play some golf this weekend...
