My straps came today from the link I gave and I am very happy with the quality... I bought the plastic cleat because I always have the dinghy at the back to load unload and there is no place to tie it.... as it is I have to go thru the handle on the trunk and tie there...then you can’t open the hatch.. but with the H30 you probably won’t be taking it off as much
I’ve had the H3 for several years. I also bought the tie downs. I have zero regrets. The ease of loading and unloading is truly a one man operation. I have a 10’ Highfield hard bottom with console and a 20 horse. I went with the hand crank but in hindsight possibly the electric winch would have made it easier yet.
My install should be a piece of cake.My new generator is sitting on the floor of my garage. That will be next week’s project.
I made some progress this weekend. I got the H20 installed but not the tie downs... I also got to see the cover and how it fits....seems it will work fine. I don’t have a problem pulling it up onto the davits ..,they are a bit further out then I would like...so will have to see long term
I went with the 11” extension not their extra long extension. I will get better pics this weekend when I finish it
Do you have a plan for strapping your dink down? I'm still working through that part of my H3O install...
For the transom I am going to add eyelets to the transom board on either side of the motor and one D-ring mounted at center line on top of platform. For the bow I plan to use two ratchet straps clipped to the tow Rings on either side and down to a single D ring on center line.... then take a look to see how stable that is
This weekend I plan to load the dinghy and give it a try. This seems to be the best setup without a 25k lift. I’ll post pics when loaded up.
No.... I ran into a time issue and space issue to put a backing plate on the tie downs... I can’t fit up into the corners of the swim platform without removing exhaust and bilge blower...even then it is iffy... so no progress... now we are away this long weekend. This is all I got this past weekend
Wow, so 1 tie down mid-jet ski and then the 2 on the edge of the platform, that looks amazing. I'm going to bite the bullet on an H3O+ with an extension, so will be working out the tie downs next. That setup looks very doable. Where did you get the pop-up tie down from? As much as I don't want to drill holes in my new platform, if I can get something that sleek, I would go that route. What is with the padeye in that last pic? Do you ever use that?
I finally got my H3O+ with extension installed this weekend. It was pretty straight-forward, Hurley took my dimensions and gave me the recommended offset from center (mine was 17") and cautioned me to make sure that there were no obstructions using that (there weren't). The first time I used it after everything was installed was nerve-wracking, I had visions of the whole swim platform folding into the lake. I'm so far really happy with it, I need to figure out my tie-down options now, I am for sure going with D-rings on the outside of the swim platform, and then if I can figure out the popup anchors that @ocgrant had pictured in post #25, I would probably go with those. So far, I have had no luck when searching for them online. Here are a few pics: Extension installed Extension with the cradle Dinghy up From the aft
Muskrats! Those little suckers will move in in a matter of days if I don't stuff the fenders in as soon as I get back. Hurley does sell critter guards that I'm considering installing, they are better looking than old nasty fenders.
Looks awesome. Did your bolts manage to miss the vent on the strbrd side? Mine had to have AL angle added to support the vent/extension. But that's just generally my luck
