I have been goofing around for 4 years trying to justify an hydraulic lift to carry a dinghy around... last year I bought a soft bottom dinghy to just pull it on the swim platform .... that wasn’t convenient ...so it didn’t come with us often.
This year we changed marinas and there is no room to keep the dinghy in the water so I went with the H20.... dinghy is a 310 with a 10hp....so light enough. Just need some distance on the platform to walk by.
Not what I wanted but time to get practical I guess...

Not sure how they work but the quality looks good at first blush

I feel your pain. I have an electric davit that I am not fond of at all. I had one on the Carpe Diem as well but would have rather had some thing with a lower profile. I am considering the H3O but at low speed my platform is awash so I'm not sure that will be an optimal choice. davit.jpg
Ill be interested to see how you like the H20 system

Today I ordered the H30 with electric winch, I had same reservations just tired of removing motor. Time to make life easier. I couldn’t justify spending 30k to lift a 5k dinghy. Keep us posted on the install

I think I may call Hurley and see if they know of anyone installing the H3O on a 506 platform. I posted the ? on the xarver owner site but no one answered. The Carver folks site is quite lame compared to CSR. In any 24 hour period ther might be 10 new posts or replies:(

It does look well built although I did notice some of the bolts do not come through the lock nuts far enough. Is that because they are not tightened until they are positioned correctly for your dink application?

That's factory assembled. The stud end is about a 1/4 thread past each locknut.. not ideal but adequate. I will take a closer look when on the boat and may add Thread lock

I'm not seeing any threads. Maybe it's just the pic.

I hope this works for you. I started with the same setup on ad 44DA with a dinghy/motor combo that was 140lbs total. It was a huge pain pulling it up over the H20 because the 420/44DA platform is so far off the surface of the water. I nearly flipped it twice, and had it nearly pull me overboard 3-4 times. The 420/44DA platform is nearly 24" off the waterline.

After one year we swapped for the H30, doubled the weight of the dinghy and outboard and could pull it up without a winch easier than I could the lighter dinghy on the H20. That said we used the winch most times since it made the process super easy.

Hurley was super helpful to work with. They will need the dimensions of your dinghy and the platform and s many pictures as possible.

We will see ... I had no problem getting the dinghy up on the platform myself without anything there... will see what the extra few inches do

You can always mount a winch in the transom locker too...

I got the H2Os last year. I've got an Apex fiberglass RIB and a Tohatsu 4 stroke 9.8HP. All told, the weight is probably 250 pounds, and my swim platform sits about 12" off the water. It's all I can do to load it up, and I can only do it with a pulley system that I scavenged from my bent up Olsson davit. It takes my wife and I (her on the bow of the dinghy, and me on the stern) to pull it up. Once it's loaded up, it works great, very stable and strong. Will be interested to hear of your experience with it.

Stee6043, that is what I was going to recommend. Electric winch mounted in transom locker to use when pulling the dinghy back onto the swim platform.

I just want to do it because it would be cool... but all in the 9.9 and the dinghy add up to 144lbs...thats why I went this route.... The wind should blow it up there :)

The reason I bought the zodiac 290 cadet with 15 hp is the beam is 5’ 1” so I don’t need the extension plate. I will be installing it this weekend.

My Hurley H30 arrived thursday. The lift looks well build and no complaints about the cost but. “Holy phuck” is a huge understatement. 3 straps, 3 tie down rings and 2 little plastic backing plates, oh dont forget a plastic cleat I’ll never use.I may try to return the “ captains package” $400 that’s crazy.
