We're planning a short cruise for July when we are taking some family along (no worry, we get along great and the kids love boats). After we spend a night at St Michael's, where can we go to drop the hook for a night or two. A beach is very desireable because we have a dog to walk. Are there any ggod spots further south or across on the western shore?

We love the Wye River. I don't have a specific beach but there are several on the island.

The Wye River is nice mostly on the southern side IMO. It does get alot of jellyfish depending on the time of year, so watch out in July. If you don't mind a short trip up the Chester River, just after Hell's Delight, (Corsica River) there is a nice spot on the starboard side - Conquest Beach on your chart. Good holding bottom and nice beach there and oh yeah - fantastic sunsets, hence the local name of Sunset Beach.
Have fun.
