When I trim the outdrive (Bravo111), more noticable when Iam trimming down from the trailer pos. I get a grinding noise. If I let off the trim switch and then trim again the sound goes away and the drive trims out ok. The noise kinda sounds like when you go to start your car again after its all ready started (not that I have done that before ha ha ha) and the starter gear grinds.

Anybody else experence this or have any ideas what the problem is.

Thanks!

Look in there while someone trims the drive. See if you have air bubbles in the oil. Might also just be that the pump is on it's way out also.

I just had to have the valve body replaced on my trim pump because it sounded like a coffee grinder. It was a lot more noticable when the engine room was hot. Mine was covered under warranty. I watched the mechanic change it and it was a pretty simple job.

Iam wondering if the noise could be comming from the trim solenoid. Is there a way to test it? I would like to rule this out before I take a serious look at the valve body.

Thanks!
