Grills

Power boaters have them, we just don't leaving hanging out like the blow boaters. Kind of reminds me of how some people used to put washer on their front porch.(Grin)

???
Most of us have LP gas grilles. You use charcoal?

Are you referring to a permanently installed LP system (with a tank locker)?
If so, If so, I think you'll see them more on blowbotes because their extra expense is usually only justified for boats that do extended cruising.

No I was talking about the one's that appear to be attached to the rail. Just for cooking a hamburger or two.

Kind of like this?

Sailboats have enough transom rail space to leave the grills mounted all the time. Most powerboats lack this rail space so owners tend to have removable mounts and they store the grills in a locker when not in use. I don't think there is a big difference between the number of grills on sailboats vs powerboats.

UP in this area, pretty much everyone would have a BBQ grill. It's the principal cooking device when overnighting.

I have a Force 10 grill hanging off the side of my boat. :smt001

Sailboaters leave them on all the time because it is a highly polished "cool mod" for an otherwise boring and slow boat. It makes them look hip and up to date.

Powerboats are 20th century. Most of the technology is hidden to preserve the stylish looks of the boat.

Being the owner of both types of vessels I can say that - on my sailboat, with a maximum speed of about 7 knots (typically run at more like 5), it just isn't a problem with keeping all my grill's innards in their proper place - not so on my 260DA while running it on plane at 25+. So I store that one while underway as it seems like it will help keep repairs down and increase longevity. I have plenty of room to keep it out on its mount all the time if I so desired.
