Hey everyone, it is great to join this forum and I am truly looking forward to interesting Sea Ray discussions.

I have just acquired my Sea Ray, it s a 1993 290 Sundancer with 4.3LX V6 Engines and GenII Alpha One stern drives. Right now she is dry-docked and engines are on the bench being overhauled (risers, gimbals, etc). It is my first boat but the fifth boat and third Sea Ray of the family (1978 230 Fairline Weekender, 1988 Sea Ray 230 Weekender, 2005 Searay 220 Sunsport, 2002 265Sc Gobbi). I must admit that we have a soft spot for sea rays and as a Naval Architect I truly appreciate the building quality and seakeeping abilities, especially of older models.

Do you know how I can find original Sea Ray parts for small interior and cockpit outfittings (e.g reading lights, drawers, hatch meshes etc) that will ship to Greece?

Cheers.

Welcome to CSR!

The 290 Sundancer is a great boat and I am sure you are looking forward to getting it back into the water.

In regards to parts, many of us use fpmarine.com and ebay for older boat parts. Some of the items that you mentioned are easier to have made locally since they may be no longer available.

It's probably a lot less expensive to source/upgrade some of the items like lights than it is to buy original Sea Ray replacements.

We love pictures so make sure you post a few of your boat and what you need.

When I have looked for parts for my boat 1989 I some time get UK sites. They are still part of EU so shipping should be easy for you. I never ordered form UK for my boat but have got auto pars from UK through https://www.rockauto.com/ They used to have a marine division. Do not know now. The US and EU have a trade agreement so you may be able to get parts from US.

welcome! pics when you get her back

There she is my beauty the day I bought her. Unfortunately she was iddle for 5-6 years by the previous owner, so I know have some work with the engines (new risers complete with manifolds, new high pressure fuel pumps, as well as overhauling of the cylinder covers, pistons and piston rings).

lambros my name is Ernest. I actually come from Sikinos in the kyklades, just thought I would mention that. anyway go to flounder pounder .com in the searay oem section, They have all kinds of searay stuff. good luck. Yasoo kai kalo kalokeri

Γεια σου Ernest! Have you ever cruised around Sikinos? I usually cruise between Serifos, Milos, Kimolos or just go to Andros where I have relatives and I am a yacht club member. Sea conditions are for sure challenging around the Aegean (very short crested waves) however Sea Rays (above 25ft) can meet the challenge. I will surely give the site a thorough look and revert.

sorry lambro but I cant write in greek on this comp. Distihos Lambro mou I don't live in Greece. My parents migrated to Montreal Quebec Canada. I have been stuck here for 52 years but I make it back from time to time. My parents who are still alive thank god and my sister with her family make it back every year. Iam not so lucky. I yern for the smell and the taste of that little dry rock. I am a full greek even though im far from my home land. I will tell you this I am planning to come down next summer 2019 so I will get in contact with you and maybe our paths will cross. Harica pou se gnorisa

Captain, very nice to hear that. The coincidence is that I visit 2-3 times Quebec per year for business. The ships are time-chartered by Valero so they call Quebec (the Levis refinery) for discharging quite often. Unfortunately so far, I didn't have the time to enjoy the town (only went to Cap Diamant once) as I usually stay for 1-2 days and then go back home...I am planning though in my next attendance to save some time for what seems to be an amazing city.

By all means whenever you find yourself in Greece, just give me a ring and , hopefully, I can take you around Athens the proper way: with a Sea Ray!

Take Care!

brgds
