great South bay----sea tow or boat or boat us

membership getting ready to expire with sea tow and wondering if I should stay or switch. didn't need to use them so I have no experience. any input? thanks
 
Have had boat us from 2008 in the great South Bay and used them a few times always quick response. But a sea tow captain helped track a route across a cut when there was no bouys out yet. I called boat us for the same assistance and he wanted to charge me $450. Sea tow captain was very friendly and didn't charge me however I bought him lunch.

also, boat us is out of Bayshore and sea tow is in Lindenhurst so whoever is closest to your home slip may be the way to go.

I've had boat us for about 10 years. Very quick to respond and never gave me any grief on towing me anywere I wanted to go. Pulled me from the fire island lighthouse 2 miles out to Jones inlet in freeport. From breakdown to haul out was about 3 hours. So that was pretty speedy. So no complaints. Sorry no info on seatow
 
I have had SeaTow for over 10 years. Anytime I have had to use them, the service and response has been great. As Joe said, whoever is closest too you, maybe the way to go.
 
Get both... Who ever comes first is my friend :)

Why would you buy both each are 1/2 apart I'd wait is that a big deal? I'll wait to save $200

I have both guys .... We travel in the ocean a lot . Ive never needed either one but if something goes wrong I'm not taking any chances. In the scheme of things the cost is irrelevant

Rob if things go that wrong I'm not calling sea tow I'm calling the coastles as I said I couldn't care about the boat getting back to the dock. In the ocean I don't see any advantage of either company.

in so cal, sea tow has superior service. I switched because of a bad experience with the other guys.

i don't think I called you a schmuck? I was trying to figure out why one would pay twice for a service when there really isn't a need for it. But "to each his own"
