Great Lakes summer trips

We want to do presque isle ,harrisson, port austin ,and east tawas.I did get a free weekend at a marina in port huron on the black river that looks like a nice place but its a bit of a cruise from saginaw ,dosnet meen its off the list though. We also want to stop in augres nortpoint to visit friends but that will be water depth and weather dependent.last year we were weathered in for 4 days there and it s a really small town,at least the dock was free, our friends have five slips there. Also not sure if port austin will be open this season or still under reconstruction, last year there wasnt a dock to moor or fuel available.

Hey Scott, how is Holland for boating? I have two nights planned there in late June.

Well, we might be going to Holland this year after all.....First week of August.

We will be spending about 100 days in the North Channel and part of Georgian Bay. Our first year was 1963 and it was a period of low water. Maybe not this low but I don't expect to have problems. We will have to see how the lakes respond to the good snow we have had this winter but don't expect to much. Use caution and keep the plotters zoomed in to get all the detail. Little Current and Killarney shouldn't be a problem with water depth. At least at the town docks in Little Current. Pay attention to the narrows in Baie Fine. There is a rock in the middle that will be hit this year by some. Keep to the far right when entering. The shallow water from Mill Lake to Beaverstone Bay may be a problem also. One problem with Georgian Bay is it is rock and not easy to dredge. They are saying it is about 15 inches lower than the same time last year. Just use caution and have paper charts and study them well would be my advise.

Ahhh the north channel God a month up there in warm weather sound so awesome it's just so pristine up there , we never went really deep into it but I can't wait until we can but by then we'll be out of water
He'll remember the movie I Robot... Yeah the old ones were stored under Mac bridge in dry land

We went through Huron last summer when depths were low. Basically the low depths are considered low based on historic data. Most areas are above the lowest datum level on your charts. We did 30,000 islands but didn't make it up to the North Channel. Next time. Don't worry about depths though. Just stay in your markers and you're good.
