I'm on the fence about getting Siruis weather on Lake Michigan. It seems most of the sales propaganda relate to the ocean. It did reference " the whole US" as far as coverage.

Does any one have it on the geat lakes? If so do you have it on a Raymarine C or E display?

I am not sure about the coverage but I did read that the weather data will not overlay the chart plotter. You have to open a separate screen for weather. This is not the case with XM and Garmin. I would think that Raymarine will fix this in the future.

I have two boat neighbors who got the XM systems with Garmin- and they love it - great data - i have checked it out. I will be ordering mine this week...

We used it to plan our trip home from the UP to Grand Haven. A friend has it on his boat. I did not realize that it did not overlay the chart as the display looks just like a chart on his system. I plan to add it to my boat next summer.

Had first experience with the new XM weather this week. Went out with Jared on "Cutting Edge" Sunday afternoon. He has a second 12" screen set up just for the weather display. Just as they promised this thing is a real time full blown weather station. Winds, waves, advanced zoom in out weather radar. This is one tool that is a must for any cruiser. Time to update the Christmas list in the old " gift to self" column. Thanks, Jared!
