Hey- Did all us Great Lakes Sea ray Owners make it over to this site? It's getting cold now but still have a few more weeks of boating left here in Lake St.Clair.

Salty Dog, I believe I saw your boat in Frankfort last July. Unless that is, there is another SD in Jacobson's. Wonderful Life was there and we had a chance to say hello to him in Harbor Springs. It was a great summer for boating. SBW

Good to meet you fellow Great Lakers. I'm new to the forum.

Any other Lake St. Clair folks out there?

Hey SBW, yea that would be us, we are the only SD in the marina. Sorry we missed you. We also had a chance to hook up with Wonderful Life, got together in Frankfort before we left for Door County. Very nice couple and hope to see them next year in their part of the lake.

Yes it was a great summer for boating, we put a fair amount of hours on her and spent almost all of July in and around Door County. Did some salmon fishing and hit them pretty hard, wife loves it.

Woke up to snow on the ground and still coming down this morning. Salty Dog comes out this weekend, seems to soon in some respects and not soon enough looking at the snow!

Hope to see you on the water next season.

Hi Fellow Great Lakers

I'm in Sarnia (Point Edward, actually) at Bridgeview Marina, but I live in the states in Rochester, Michigan.

Salty Dog, I've spent a lot of time in Franfort, say hi to my buddy Al (or Betsy) Anderson (he'll be the guy in a kayak) or Jerry Rank. If you've been there a while, you know the infamous John G (not the REALLY infamous John who's generated a lot of interesting stories) who used to run a charter with Wes somebody whose last name excapes me.

SB in GP, PeteP, I used to sail out DYC right past GP, but have spent a lot of time around the Clinton River. I miss it.

Lake Huron is incredibly serene, especially this time of year. I'll squeeze out one more weekend, then it's on to the longest 5 months of the year.

Long Winter Ahead

Hi Great Lakers. I am sure glad we have found a new board.

We had a great summer also and we are already looking forward to next season.

Salty Dog - maybe we can hook up with SBW1 next summer on Spring Lake. I am sure we would have a good time. We are planning to spend a substantial amount of time in Door County so I would like to pick both your brains this winter on the area.

We haul on the 19th. I have put the boat on land with frost on the bow and I hope it doesn't happen to me this year.

BTW, I am having trouble logging into this board and constantly have to reactivate the account. I hope I can figure out what's going on as it is a royal pain.

Again, good to hear from the Great Lakers.

Wonderful Life,

Would be glad to share information about Door County, it is a nice place to cruise. We will be going back I'm sure, we can share the spots we like most.

We are talking about heading south next summer so would be great to hook up with you and SBW. You guys could show us around.

Man, a lot of snow today and she is still wet - brrrrrr. Decided she comes out Friday.

Winter has arrived this week after a final fantastic weekend on Georgian Bay last weekend. Fynder is being hauled out - can't wait for Spring! Anyone here from Lake St. Clair/ Colony?

Fynder, I think I remember you guys and that boat. Were you docked at Colony in the Spring then came with a few of your buddies to take the boat up Canada? If not, it is another 400SB. I was docked there in the early spring on our boat two wells over. That is not our regular dock they were building ours this spring. Hope you had a good summer with the boat. We made it to Georgian Bay once this summer. Stayed in Covered Portage Cove and then the Sportsmen in Kilarney. (One of my favorite places in the world and we go there often). Only problem was the price of the fuel up there. Over 5 buck a gallon! By far the most expensive in this years log!

SRO Refugee checking in, stumbled accross this Great Lakes Forum. Hello to all of you passionate Great Lakes SeaRay owners. God it's cold! Is it supposted to be this cold already! Haul out scheduled for this friday 10/20 :smt013

Whoops- What about Indian Summer- aren't you going to be waiting around for that? Mark my words - Next week sunshine and 60-65. "We be Boatin' Mon"!

Legacy - I remember meeting you in early May at Colony. I think you had just bought the boat but didn't have the name on it?
We were also in Killarney this summer - beautiful but expensive, I think I paid $5 for a head of lettuce. They make all their money in six weeks of summer. Britt, in the northeastern part of the Georgian Bay has a great restaurant, great fuel prices and beautiful cruising grounds close by - Bustard Islands, Black Bay and Bad River Channel.

Fynder, Yea that was us..but we did have the name on the transom as I put on my graphics when the boat was up on the hard. We were pushing them for fininshing up my punchlist and releasing the boat to us. It drives me crazy when you pay for your boat then-wait. I will have to try Britt- for cruising - Done all the North Channel-Whalesback-Benjimens ETC. but the most towards that way is just Collins Inlet. Will definitly check fuel prices before coming up 'cause never paid anywhere near those prices we saw this year up there and I figure the dollar will be at par by next year so there goes any "savings".

Salty Dog and Wonderful Life, didn't see your posts as I'm still getting use to the new format. :smt101 We are planning on going to the North Channel next summer. I stopped in to renew my passport yesterday as I've heard this will be required in Canada beginning January 2007. There is conflicting info on this issue and it takes 10 weeks to get a passport renewed currently. Any word on passports will be appreciated. SBW

Legacy- did you buy your boat through Colony or Platinum? We bought Fynder through Colony and were very happy with the experience. Not much of a punch list although I like to think that I'm detail oriented, and no issues after 90 engine hours this year.

Current news on Canadian/US passport proposal is an " high tech ID pass card" in lieu of a passport to be required as of 2009. (plus a healthy surtax on good canadian beer). Nothing new required for 2007.

Fynder, Bought it thru Colony, Very happy with the boat, thanks, Interesting Info on the "hi-tech id card". Keep us informed if you hear anything from your end. Last week of Boating here for us on Lake St.Clair, going this weekend and maybe a few days next week.
GO TIGERS!

GO TIGERS!

Going to "park" the boat inside the in-the-water-heated garage next weekend. Not sure it there is any nice days left or not. Oh well, maybe just sit on the boat and watch the World Series. GO TIGERS indeed !
