I'm on Lake St. Clair, and looking for boating destinations where you can get in a round of golf on an overnight trip.

Thanks.

I'll warn you...I'm not a golfer, but here are two suggestions that aren't that far from Detroit.

Maumee Bay State Park. The golf course is much better than what you would expect when you hear "State Park." I played the course awhile back and it is challenging. The resort is pretty nice as well...great pool for kids. www.maumeebayresort.com

Sawmill Creek Resort. I've never been there...but have heard good things. http://www.sawmillcreek.com/ You will be close to some other great destinations, including Cedar Point, Put-In-Bay and Kelley's Island.

Have fun.

You might try St. Clair. Less than two hours from Lake St. Clair. The state harbor will take you by shuttle van just a short road trip across the river to the course. Think the name is Pine Shores. In pretty good shape. Nine holes.

Lake erie metropark is another option but its just the park and the course, nothing else really. Both are very nice though.

I cannot speak for the course other than to know that there is a Par 3 style short one at Bay Point Marina in Sandusky Bay.

It's a bit of a tour, but Erie Shores G & CC is a few hundred yards down the road from Leamington, ON on the the canuck side.

I'm docked in Leamington and would be happy to help fill out a 4 some if you want to make the trip!

Cheers,

Randy.
