I've been going to the FLBS for 15 years but yesterday was really special. Yeah, the show was fantastic and weather was great but yesterday I finally got to meet Capt. Rusty and was able to personally thank him for all he does for all of us CSR's.

Rusty then offered to take me on a personal in depth walk through of the L650 Fly. He is truly a walking encyclopedia of boating, the Sea Ray ambassador of good will, and very generous with his time.

I hope those that haven't yet had the pleasure of meeting Rusty will get to soon!

Thanks Capt.

So true. We wnt to the boat show on Sunday, yes I have pics. We tried out the north winds today, an hour, then two hours cleaning the salt off the boat.

Will post boat show pics in the morning.

Art, you are more than welcome sir as it was my absolute pleasure seeing you and being able to spend some time on boats together. Also glad to meet Mark (Football Fan) and his lovely wife after having many conversations with him on his 47DB. I still have a great admiration for your 450EB as it is one of my all-time fav's.

It was a great show and Sea Ray made a huge impact with all of our new models. Please try and attend one of the shows in your local area so you can personally see the new model lines we are aggressively producing these days. Something like eleven new boats this year and even more coming down the pike. Even though I am kind of exclusively around the yacht line, I too say wow when I see the new boats like the 350SLX and the new deck boats, very cool stuff.

I will say again that you people have to realize it is I that am honored to be in your company. I am an employee so seeing you walk past sales people and many higher ups just to find the captain, is just over the top to me. The riches I own are from relationships I have, and those come from you guys. All with the common denominator being a Sea Ray boat….. regardless of the year it was made.

I will be heading across the Okeechobee Waterway on a L650 starting tomorrow from Lauderdale and ending in Tampa so if you see me, hail me loudly!!!

Thanks again Art, you’re the best boss!...and thank you all !

Yep, rusty is Top Notch in my book. Safe travels brother.

Was fantastic seeing you Rusty. We really both thank you profusely for the personalized tours of the L class boats. I have to say, I do like those.

Thank you for your warm hospitality.

I posted in another thread ....

"I flew here (flbs) from Ct and its amazing. This is my first time here and I can't believe how big this show is. The best part I was able to receive a personal tour of the 650 express from Captain Rusty himself!!! I had assumed he is quite a guy from all I read but after meeting him and spending only a short time with him, I can say he is truly a top shelf person. His wealth of knowledge and great personality made is so much fun to be around"

I was also very happy to finally meet Jim Maier! Thanks again Jim for this site which gives us a chance to meet so many great folks.

I was wearing a Sea Ray shirt yesterday flying home and several people stopped me as they were happy Sea Ray owners as well, and none of them were on this site, yet...

Here is wishing for winds from the south - guessing the lake might get a bit choppy in the north blow that has been going on.

Forgot about mentioning my time with you Mark....I just have to get over the "boatrboy" name. Great meeting you and hanging on the 650 for the time we had.

Certainly hope we can do it again!

Capt. R,

Hoped to had made it down this year but schedule wouldn't allow it. Had a friend stop by the SR display and he was quite impressed with the new L series. I had him ask for you, but you must have stepped away for awhile. Was hoping you could convince him to trade in the 53' Navigator on a new SR. Not that I'm picky, but when I visit the Keys, I would prefer to do it on a Sea Ray!!

I'm guessing SR will have a good representation at the Miami Show in Feb 2015. Might be able to make that one.

Travel safe!

Well, I have to say, I've long admired Sea Rays from afar, but this boat show was the first time I got to climb on a few of them. I somehow missed the 650, but climbed aboard several others. I was completely smitten by the 410 that was on display. Also enjoyed seeing the 370 venture in person. Maybe one day...
