Does anyone know of a good Marine / Boat performance / repair shop located near Southern Lake Michigan area?

Im looking to purchase Bennett tabs finally, and cant for the life of me drill into the bottom of my boat... so Im looking for an expert shop to install them for me.

(Unfortunately, I no longer trust the service dept at my local marina... who I was initially planning on doing this for me)

Thanks.

B&E Marine in Michigan City - I believe they are a Master Sea Ray dealer.

Unless they are your local marina that you no longer trust . . .

I did this install last year and it was very easy. only takes one beer to get the courage to drill the first hole. The area you are drilling into is solid so you won't sink plus it can be filled with epoxy if you make a mistake

I agree with 'HavingFun'.
I have done it on a few boats and even retro fitted tab indicators on an older boat.
If you are trailerable PM me and if you need a hand I can assist.
I am in storage near the Skyway in Chicago.

Weren't you in Portage last year?

Yup, still in Portage.
Thanks for the replies... sorry, works been so hectic, I havent had a chance to get back on here!

I may look into doing this myself then... I'm planning on doing some more research now that I have some available time.

The tabs should help reduce porpoising correct?

Is hammond accepting boaters once again? (I didnt know how far along they were with the casino and all)

I will PM you if I decide to go forward with the Trim Tabs. Thank you!

I've been debating on those or the hydrofoil... (Tabs I realize, are MUCH better) - but Im starting to wonder if I really need the tabs or not... (due to most likely reduced 'pleasure driving' - and more 'direct to beach' trips - due to our friendly $4+/gal gas... LOL)

How big is your boat? Have you looked at Smart Tabs. Easier install and only about $100 for the tabs. I have heard a lot of good things about them and I can't think of one person who likes the Hydrafoil.

Hammond is open for business but missing a few amenities.
Off of the main dock (where I am) we have a long walk to parking as we lost more than 1/2 of the lot due to construction and we have temp showers up in the lot.

Still quite a few slips left, but should have stayed in Portage one more year.

Just give a shout if you need help.
Also will PM you with mechanic from Skyway.
He lives in Michigan City and is an independant contractor for Skyway.
