Good idea??

I have a fluke anchor on the bow of my boat (anchor locker) and I find that's all I need. I also have a good river anchor in the stern locker should I need more in our lake. I don't see any need for the grapnel (for me). BUT, I do like the shoreline anchor and could find many uses for that! I may have to go out and find one just for beaching on the islands for the afternoon!

Thanks! Another reason to spend MORE money on my boat! :smt038

I think the intent is a good idea (and, of course, SS always looks nice!). And, it is nice that it all folds up. But, that fluke looks like it has a rather small surface area - I would guess it's meant for small boats. Plus, I'm betting it ain't cheap!

Personally, I think the most practical thing to do is just go and and get a regular, old fluke style (generic) for your second/lunch hook. It'll cost under $50. The dog tie-out (curly-cue thing) is about $5 and works for a sand/shore anchor. Then get a small duffel bag or rubbermaid box to keep the gear in. Including some extra rope, you'll have less than $100 invested... and that, in boating dollars, is cheap!

What is this your are referring to?

EDIT: I got it now ... one of those dog leads I see in the pet stores. Good idea!
