Good Deal to get back into a Sea Ray?

Could be turnkey with some cleanup or lots of things to fix. The trailer has been in salt (Baltimore?) maybe so who knows the wheel bearing condition. It has bottom paint so it may have been left in the water. I'd have to go for a ride and it's getting cold out. I looked at a real nice Formula 242LS in MD but it was too cold to go for a ride....the next guy that looked and went for a ride the 454 sucked water in a cylinder and went bang. Glad I did not buy it. He bought it with the motor blown for a lot less $$$$. I would have been adding $$$, Mike.

I have been out on a laguna 21 and it has a nice layout and soft ride. That one your looking at new was awesome now maybe not so much. Are you prepared to repower that thing? Remember anyone can say anything when they post an ad. I would have to do a sea trial even with the cold. If they don't want to there's probably a reason. When out there try to check everything. Open hatches and compartments flip switches check for leaks. Don't be shy your gonna be stuck with any problems you don't find. If you get past the sea trial and are confident everything is working then have it surveyed. If it runs well and the systems are working then it sounds like a good deal but don't get your hopes up.

Not enough information to have an opinion... "twin searay(mercury) 135hp" - Are the outboards original? Sea Ray does not make them... so they are Mercury? How many hours?

I would have to look at it and run it before I would put six grand into a 1989 model.

Laguna's are high demand boats. They have the typical Sea Ray quality construction and were built like tanks. Sea Ray didn't realize it at the time, but the competition's small to mid-sized center consoles are kinda flimsy compared to the Laguna. The look may be dated, but the demand will keep the prices up as long as the engines are good. The only thing better would be to find one with a wrung out engines and re-power it with a new 4 strokes.
