I just got a new laptop and wanted Office on it. Cheap sucker that I am, I didn't want to get trapped into buying a package that was good for a year then you have to pay Microsoft again to use it for each year after that. I bought a lifetime package called Microsoft Office Home & Student 2013. Then I found out that the only way to get a calendar program through Outlook is to buy one of their annual subscription programs.

Dirty Bustards! :smt021

So, does anyone use a good calendar program on their computer? I'd like it to work with Outlook so I don't have to reload everything, and I'd prefer it to have the look and feel of Outlook's calendar. I don't need the tasks part of Outlook though the Contact part would be nice to have.

Any suggestions?

Oh, and since I'm such a cheap sucker I'd like Freeware though I'm not opposed to opening my wallet to buy one.

Do you use gmail for email? Google's calendar should integrate.
I can't speak for Outlook, I'm all Mac.

Mac's come with iCal for free and it integrates seamlessly with google's calendar and syncs with my iPhone.

Thanks. I do use gmail and I downloaded Google Calendar. It's not as full-functioning as Outlook's calendar, but it will work.

BTW, did I mention I had Microsoft almost as much as I hate Windows 8?

For $80 more you could have got Home & Business 2013 that includes Outlook...

I like Outlook... it can even sync calendars with Android and certainly Windows mobile.

I have yet to try their Office 365... that's the annual package I think you are referring to.

There is a free calendar imbedded in Windows 8, just search on "calendar" and it will come up. Also, "Outlook.com" is a free service that's the successor to hotmail and contains a web calendar as well. I'm pretty much all Apple but still need Windows for some business applications so I don't use either but both are related to Outlook so may be useful to you in terms of less of a transition. Otherwise, Google would be a good way to go IMO, integrates with most everything.
