Good bye, will be boatless next week (but hopefully not for long!)

The search is over! Currently in the closing process for a 2006 47' Grand Banks Heritage EU (Europa). Twin 510HP CAT C-9's. Avon RIB with 40 HP Yamaha. Prettty much Great Loop ready (so it will be when we are!). Should be closed next week, only paperwork on title, documentation, etc to go.
A special call out of thanks to Frank W. Frank, your advice was very helpful and balanced, you are a true rock star when it comes to all things with diesel boats!
Guess I have to join the Grand Banks forum now, but I am not dropping my membership here! Our six years with our 44 DA and all the things I learned on this forum will always be treasured. A couple pics of the new ride... Hope to meet some of you on the Loop in 15 months or so....

Congratulations!. You're living the dream of many of us.
Karen retired in April, and I am planning on doing the top half of the loop next year also, maybe we will meet up. Good luck with the new boat

Remember, this is a 50,000+ pound semi displacement hull. 18-19 MPH at 2100 RPM cruise, 22 MPH at WOT 2500 RPM. Fuel burn was at 35 GPH at 2100. We will be going at hull speed much of the time!! Life to date on the CAT computer showed just under 9 GPH a side for the 1100 hours so about 1600-1700 RPM.
Thanks again to all. We hope to blog our adventure in a year or so. For now it is learn the boat and make a few modifications for the admiral.
Fair skies and following seas to all.

Nice boat Tom. Enjoy. Stop by and tie up if you are nearby.

Thanks Bill. Hope to see you on the water soon. Should take possession later this week. Will be at Terrace Point in a couple weeks after some vacation time in the North. You are welcome to stop by when you have dinner there too!
