We got a call today from our marina that our dock is ready and that they are putting our boat in the water this Thursday, March 30th! That's the earliest we've ever been able to launch!

We're looking forward to spending our 1st night and weekend on the boat. It's going to be interesting. To be honest, I'm a little nervous. There's a lot more systems on this boat compared to our Sea Ray.

I think that it's going to be lonely in the marina this weekend and in West Harbor in general. It should be a good time to practice docking a bunch w/o any other boats around!

Anyone else going to be in?

Cheers

You will be an expert in no time. Just take it slow and all will be good.

Jealous. This is exactly why I want to be in early, but in my storage facility, a LOT of other boats have to move first.

hard to believe you guys are going in already this far north. we went to fox chapel marine saturday and saw a pontoon and an open bow out on the Allegheny river. our marine doesn't open until May 1st but i won't be in a hurry to get in that early. mechanicals should be pretty close to being done by the end of this week but saturday it goes to the canvas shop for a new camper top. not sure how soon they will get to it but will be at least a week, maybe two. after that i bring it home to buff and wax and re-do some teak and general cleanup.

Yowsers. Last year we picked up 6" of snow the first or second week of April. I don't think my canvas would have appreciated that!

Enjoy the peaceful marina. Be sure to keep an eye on your windows/port-holes. You'll get plenty of condensation inside with the heater running.

We picked up 3" last year the day we were supposed to launch. We rescheduled for the next weekend. I personally don't feel like we'll get any major accumulation in our area. If we do, I'll clean it off like I did last year! Future forecast is looking like 60s and upper 50s for the next couple of weeks with lows in the low 40s. Hopefully we won't need to run the heat much!

We'll be floating a week from today. This will be the earliest that we have ever gone in, but unfortunately it is out of our hands as the marina where the boat is stored utilizes its garage for the indoor heated storage facility and they have to have all boats out of there by the 15th when they officially open. We are hoping to be able to move the boat to her home on the weekend of the 7th-9th, but have to wait and see what the wave forecasts will be for that weekend before we make the 2.5 hour cruise north. Hard to believe boats are already going in.

Are you staying at Midway again? I kept my last boat there during the winters in inside storage, the boat was a 32' Carver.

Yes, sir! We'll be at Midway until we permanently move to South Carolina or Mike kicks us out!

Stop by and say hi sometime. We'll be there until November 1st!

Cheers

I sincerely doubt Mike would kick you out unless you really caused a lot of problems.

It's like clockwork! Winter Weather Advisory in effect up here for tonight and tomorrow. Looking just like last year - 4" +/- of heavy, wet, canvas wrecking snow tomorrow!

And yet 74 and sunny is the forecast for next Monday. What a wonderful place to live...

Here she is!

I love it! Lol!

They're calling for 1"-3" of snow tomorrow at mid to high 60s on Saturday and Sunday!

Bring it on! We have heat and air! Lol!

Okay, I missed something here. Did you not have a 30' Sea Ray bridge boat and when did you get the Trojan?

Lol!

We traded the 1979 Sea Ray 300SRV Sedan Brige in on the 1989 Trojan International 12 Meter Motor Yacht!

We were ready for an upgrade and are planning on moving to Little River, SC w/in the next couple of years to live abord full time!

I feel like I may have mentioned this before in another thread, but I think that I'll update my introduction thread!

We closed on our new boat on March 6th! Sadly, our old Sea Ray is sitting on the hard at the entrance of our Marina for sale. :( We loved that boat! Lot's of great memories and learning experiences!

Cheers

That's awesome, congratulations! Good luck!

We'll be here, so if you need anyting, don't hesitate to ask. We're just a short golf cart &/or dinghy ride away, so if you need help at the dock coming in we'd be glad to lend a hand. I'll PM you my phone number.

Cheers

Those Internationals are my favorite older boats in all three configurations they offered. They have an incredible ride and are so stable at rest with that hull design. I just sea trialed the Diesel one I had for sale in Saugatuck and it reminded me how much I love them and how well they are built, no survey items that were structural or mechanical.

Congrats!

I'm launching today, took a pass on yesterday due to the wind.

Thank you for the kind words! We're loving it, so far!

We liked the one that you were selling, but it was sale pending and we already had a deal in the works on ours.

Good luck on your launch! Enjoy!
