ey, got a stupid question here, I was waxing the 500 yesterday and dropped the end of the extension cord in the water. I had the cord plugged into the aft exterior outlet(port cubby by the rear seat). Anyway, it kicked a GFCI or a breaker, neither of which I can locate. I reset the aft breaker on the panel in the salon, but it still doesnt work. Anyone got any ideas as to where its at? I went all over looking for a GFCI but couldnt find one. Thanks for any help

Check the outlets in the cabin, most likely the cockpit is connected to one of them. Does your cockpit outlet have the reset buttons? MM

Yes the only other plug on the aft system I believe is where you come down the stairs into the salon there is a plug in the ceiling above the wrap around couch. There are no GFCI resets on it. I'm about to head down there in a few. I've got to go fill up before Amateur Weekend gets going today. I just changed the oil, all the filters and impellers and I believe she is ready to go. I ll get to checking today to see if I can figure it out.

The reset must be on one of the other outlets or built into the breaker. I only have 2 outlets and the cockpit is slaved from the cabin. MM

Our 91 500 has the GFI under the couch, port side. We had the boat for 2 years before I found it.

I had a similar issue on my 400DA. Problem solved when two on/off switches were pointed out to me just above where the shore power plugs into the boat. Hope it helps.

I had one trip on the cockpit outlet. The owners manual wiring diagram showed me that it was connected through the GFCI in the stbd bathroom. You might be able to trace it in the manual...

Look in another wet location - head, galley. Mine is in the head.

On a 2000 460 DA and on a 99 500 DA that I have a ton of time on there is a GFI in the engine room, try checking out there.

I promise you, you will find it under the couch, port side. Get on your hands and knees with a flash light. It is is just above the floor on the lower face of the couch, to the rear of the large ottoman. There is a outlet there for some reason. Don't now what you would use it for.

Im headed back down tomorrow and i'll check the couch area I've been all over engine room over the weekend with changing filters, impellers, a very cranky generator and then Sunday the port starter took a crap. That made for a fun ride home especially docking, I dont have thrusters and they would have made my life and everyones around me a lot easier. I had a lot of back seat drivers that had no idea what they were talking about! Anyway, I'm installing the starter tomorrow afternoon and I'll let ya'll know what I find

my GFI are in the head in the cabinet thay do hide them good one is in galley in the booze locker lol good luck

Bahamabreisus was right on the money! I laid down on the salon floor and it was right there on the bottom of the couch next to the stairs. I would have never found it unless I was falling down drunk and fell down! I got the starter done too. Ready to roll for the weekend

Glad you found it, great place for GFI. WHAT THE HELL WAS SEARAY THINKING !!!!!!! Hope you enjoy the 500, Personally, I kinda miss the 420

This site is great we can help one another. :smt038

It sure is great and has helped save me a lot of money! I miss driving the old 390, I'm going to pay her a visit next weekend though and take her out for a cruise

Sea ray has two "first Choice" places to put GFI's Head Vanity or med Cabintes, Under galley sinks and in cockpit cabinets./ The under a salon seat is a new twist to me.

UPDATE: 1999 380D SUNDANCER
I went a bit nuts trying to find these...
1. I found one on the port side in the cabinet in the galley inside under the microwave where you don't see it... Its on the inside of the cabinet! Is there any reason to ever use it... !!!!
2. I found the one in the port side head. That was the easy one, although it's separate from the galley!?!?!? Meaning although the galley one (#1 above) had tripped... The head one still worked !?!?
3. I found a 3rd one in the Starboard after cabinet over the couch, just forward of the electrical panel. Super weird place. What would I ever plug into this outlet?
