Getting the most from your RADAR

If you have the Raymarine SL or RL, push the display button on the top right of the unit. Push it until it cycles to the "CHART" image (the center image). Then look at the softkeys on the bottom and the "OVERLAY ON/OFF" selection will be the bottom right soft key. Push it to turn on the radar overlay. Your radar scanner has to already be powered on to get this overlay selection (by having previously selected the RADAR screen using the display button).

Worked, thanks! Now I can use that and add ipad garmin in front of the raymarine gps

Good info from this thread,THANK-YOU ALL. I have a new to me Furono 1751 MARK 2 RADAR, 2kw open array, on my 2000 310 SA. It appears to me to work fine. I have recently installed a Lowrance HDS 10 chartplotter. I thought I might sell the radar and buy the new style that plugs and plays on my HDS 10. My questions are this:: Was this a good radar in its' time ? (2000 vintage I assume). What was the approx original cost? If used properly, does it actually find //see stuff out there as good or better than the new digital types ? Is it worth selling a properly functioning radar just to buy the latest/greatest for compatibility issues? Thanks for any advice. Richard

The biggest difference years ago between course up and north up was the screen refresh rate. I don't know if that applies anymore with advances in technology being what they are.

Guys, I really want a radar on my boat; but I don't have an arch. Are there any other mount options?
