I imagine the launching of boats will be at max velocity next week. High's in the 60's/70's. We're now into April and....knock on wood...the forecast certainly doesn't look like we'll get our typical 6" of April snowfall.

Here's to hoping for a dry spring. I'd like to grill on Memorial Day with dry feet this year!

I'm usually 1st, but waiting on repairs to the salon door...which broke in October...but my marina finally got around to in Feb

Well we were 77 on tuesday and it's snowing today :) but they did have a 7" forecast originally that is now just a dusting. back to 50s tomorrow and through next week

Just don't put your snow blower away and jinx it.;)

The solid door or the one my grandson ran through???

Ha...I don't recall which door? Only the excitement that followed. Good for a chuckle, just glad we didn't have a kid (or dog) go into the water that time...:)

How you get off boat with bow in like that? Looks weird, never seen that method around here.

Weird?...I'll take that as a compliment.

Many marinas with fixed docks in my area will prohibit you from docking stern-in due to the damage propwash causes to the sea wall.

You guys that have floating docks, finger piers, etc would have no reason to bow-in.

How do we get off the boat? Like this:

Nice, makes it easy to wax the boat, well, one side anyway.

Unfortunately, that’s not the case. It’s an impossible angle/distance in spite of how it looks. Particularly where the bow starts to curve away from the dock. About the only thing it’s good for the is scrubbing the scum line.

So y’all don’t have the pleasure of trying to back into the slip in gale winds without hitting the next boat that is 3 feet away and the prop is churning mud cause all the water has blown out of the river at low tide, while the wife is yelling to get it closer to the finger pier so she can grab the dock lines? You miss all the fun!

I like being stern in, usually go that route when visiting other harbors. Just at my home port, if I am stern in, I can't get my dinghy out of the well and we use our dinghy a lot.

Same. We use our dinghy nearly every weekend.

I love visiting harbors with floating docks. It's nice to see how the other half lives. Walking from the swim platform onto the dock is a real luxury :) When I register at DNR owned marinas I usually register (and pay) as a 46' boat so I can get a 50' slip. Bow-in and room to walk off the platform, boating utopia....
