The genny drip pan on my 05 DA420 is badly rusted and needs replaced. Anybody know of a better-than-OEM replacement part? Stainless steel, or better yet, some sort of plastic? Input appreciated, thanks!

I just bought one for my 7.6BTD, but could not find a SS or plastic one. That would be nice.

I think mine was $60, SS would be 3x that. Not sure I need a lifetime drip pan at this stage.

I did this project last year on my now sold 420. I went with the OEM pan which was over $600.00. Plastic would be out since it is actually the mount for the gen. Stainless would need to be custom made and expensive. If you keep your bilge clean and dry you should get many years out of the OEM as they are powder coated. The heat exchanger is hard to get to and on my boat it had been leaking which contributed to the rust. The transom shower also leaked right onto the generator. After I corrected these problems it stayed dry. When I removed the pan I found there were actually mounts for the heat exchanger which were rusted away along with grounding straps on the back side!

His 7.6 BTD is a Westerbeke generator. Westerbeke mounts the generator on motor mounts and rails when are separate from the generator. That pan won't work for another brand.
